Megan É. Whittle, Lawyer

Megan joined Whittle & Company, Lawyers, in October of 2014.  Before joining us, Megan practiced at a large law firm in Vancouver in the area of insurance defence litigation, with a focus on transportation matters.
 

Megan's practice also involves family law, administrative law, corporate and commercial matters, insurance-related matters such as limits and coverage counsel, and personal injury: 

• Megan's experience in personal injury involves acting for both the plaintiff and defendant, in the areas of: 
  • Vessel collisions;
  • Motor vehicles, including long haul trucks;
  • Professional negligence;  and
  • Slip and falls.
• Megan's family practice includes acting as a Child Lawyer as well as advising clients on issues relating to:
  • Divorce; 
  • division of assets;      
  • spousal support for both married and unmarried spouses; 
  • Child-related matters, such as custody and guardianship, access, child support;
  • Negotiating and drafting marriage, cohabitation and separation agreements.
• Megan's insurance related practice includes:
  • Acting as coverage counsel;
  • Acting as limits counsel; and,
  • Acting on behalf of various insurance companies in relation to personal injury and property claims.

Megan has  published and presented papers on various transportation topics.

Megan has appeared in the Provincial Court of British Columbia, the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the Federal Court, the Court of Appeal of the Yukon Territory, the Supreme Court of the Yukon Territory, the Territorial Court of Yukon, and various Administrative tribunals, including the Mental Health Review Board.
